Frame Workshop

Compose a Then|Now still (or a single photo) in your browser: dates, place, credit, frame, and logo — then download a JPEG and a JSON look pack that GhostViewer Media Framer can use on GIFs and video. Works with any photo — a historic print next to today’s view, a repeat of an old family photo, or before-and-after from a renovation or restoration. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, so your originals stay on your device throughout. For a walkthrough and pack notes, see the Frame Workshop help docs.

FAQs

A small JSON file that stores your frame look (and place/dates/credit fields) alongside the JPEG. GhostViewer Media Framer can import it so GIF/video matches the same style without rebuilding the frame.

No. Frame Workshop runs entirely in your browser — no sign-up, no upload to a server.

The Frame Workshop downloads a JPEG at the size you choose in Size & fit:

  • Output size — pick a ready-made size and the whole framed image, border and caption included, comes out at exactly that many pixels. Presets cover Facebook and LinkedIn link previews (1200 × 630), X/Twitter posts (1600 × 900), blog featured images and Open Graph (1200 × 630), Facebook and Instagram portrait (1080 × 1350), Pinterest pins, Stories and Reels, and YouTube thumbnails. Choose Custom size to type your own width and height, up to 4000 pixels.
  • Automatic — leave Output size on Automatic and use Aspect (keep the original, YouTube 16:9, 4:3, square 1:1, portrait 4:5 or 3:4, story 9:16) and Export cap (a maximum height of 1080, 1600 or 1920 pixels) to set the shape and size instead.

With a fixed size the photo is cropped to fill the frame. If you’d rather see the whole picture, set Fit to Contain and it sits inside the frame with a matte around it. Your originals stay in the browser, so you can change the size and download again for another platform. The JSON pack is a look for GhostViewer Media Framer, not a second image file.

Yes. Add a logo file and it’s baked into the JPEG. If Media Framer should show the same mark on GIF/video, also set a public Logo URL in the Logo panel.

Frame Workshop makes a still JPEG. Media Framer (on GhostViewer) applies the same look pack to a GIF or short video — optional caption, logo, and sound — so motion and stills can match.
